Confirmation is the sacrament that strengthens and continues Baptism; in this sacrament we are sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
“In many dioceses in the United States, adolescence is the period in which the Sacrament of Confirmation is received and the process of Christian initiation is completed. The Church must make every effort… to ensure that adolescents do not view their preparation for and reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation as the end of their formal catechesis. They must be encouraged to continue to participate in catechetical programs, the celebration of Sunday Eucharist, and the practice of Christian living.” (NDC, pg. 200)
Adolescent Sacramental Catechesis for Confirmation
Here at our parish, we prepare adolescents for Confirmation once they are in the 8th grade. Youth who are currently in High School are also welcome to join the preparation. Youth simultaneously are enrolled in Pre-Confirmation classes, either in their normal religious education curriculum in a Catholic School or in our parish Faith Formation classes on Sunday mornings. In addition to these classes, the youth attend six (6) two (2) hour Sacramental Catechesis sessions with their Parent(s) and Sponsor. All six (6) sessions will be on Sundays from 3:00-5:00pm in our Family Center.

Please Note: There will be NO ORIENTATION. Letters will be mailed home verifying and confirming all registration requirements have been received. All registration paperwork and requirements are listed on this webpage.

Retreat à Each youth will have the opportunity to attend a one-day retreat from about 9:30am – 6:30pm at San Pedro Retreat Center. Either Saturday, April 4, 2009 or Sunday, April 26, 2009. More info will be provided once Sacramental Catechesis Sessions begin. An opportunity will be given at Session #2, January 18, to sign up for the retreat option of your choice.
Rehearsal for Confirmation Celebration Mass à Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 7:00-8:30pm. Will be located at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4545 E. Anderson Rd., Orlando, FL 32812.
Confirmation Celebration Mass with Bishop Thomas Wenski à Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00am. Located at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Confirmands & Sponsors MUST be present by 10:00am.

Classes will begin February 2009, English & Spanish. Sacramental Catechesis for Adult Confirmands is a series of six (6) consecutive weekly sessions on Wednesday evenings.
