Points For Progress
A great way to enhance your child’s school experience is to get involved as a volunteer, whether it is working in the classroom, coaching students after school, or participating on a committee.
Points for Progress (PFP) is the program that monitors hours provided by Good Shepherd families to Good Shepherd Catholic School. All families at GSCS are expected to participate in the PFP program regardless of their tuition status. The PFP Program is designed to enhance the educational experience of Good Shepherd Catholic School by providing support in various areas of school service, maintaining accountability of the program, and rewarding families for their participation.

Points For Progress Policies
- A minimum of 30 hours (that is only an average of 3 hours per month during the 10 months thatschool is in session) will be required from every Good Shepherd Catholic School family beginning June 1 andending May 31 of each school year.
- PFP hours could be provided in areas such as assisting teachers or staff; working on fund- raisers, parish festival, family socials, or student activities; as well as serving on school related committees or boards such as Home and School Association, School Board, or Foundation Board – just to name a few!
- Families will be responsible for entering their names and contact information in the online system along with information about where they would like to volunteer and hours they are available. They will also be responsible for entering the PFP hours they have logged in the same system to get credit for them.
- PFP Coordinator(s) will administer the policies as well as any recognition programs and awards with approval from the HSA Board and the GSCS School Board. Note: Good Shepherd Catholic School HSA and School Board members are not eligible for any awards.
- At the end of the school year, a list of any families not meeting the 30 required PFP hours will be submitted to the Good Shepherd School Board for further evaluation.
